Day 2: Empty
My dad was in town this weekend... so naturally we introduced him to one of our favorite spots. Following an exhilaratingly informative morning spent at the JFK memorial and museum site (leaving me feeling empty in an entirely different way than what you see above - a whole different blog post in and of itself), we headed to the Highland Park Soda Fountain for a yummy, happy pick-me-up.
The soda fountain is an adorably quaint little marriage of pharmacy + soda fountain goodness that has been around for over 100 years. Their website includes a detailed timeline of their existence... pretty neat stuff. It's fun to go in there and let your imagination run ahead of you - what would it have been like in 1912? 1950?
Bo and I shared a chocolate milkshake - our favorite guilty indulgence. It was no time before our glass was empty.
